My Philosophy

Living the most profitable daily life starts with understanding many philosophies. Here is one:

"Every adversity, every failure, and every heartache, carries with it the seed of equivalent or greater benefit" -

Napoleon Hill

Whether your task is hosting the best gathering, overcoming a crisis, finding your purpose, giving the perfect gift, launching a new business, entertaining family, creating a joyful home or crafting your best life, we all strive to do these processes in the best way possible, don't we?  Here's another philosophy:

"Whatever you do, always do your best; set goals, have a mentor and seek challenges; become a role model for those that come behind you, always have good in your heart, and never give up."

- My Parents

My Journey

Susie Dawahare Coiner is a self-motivated entrepreneur with a unique set of skills to share.  She has expertise in customer experience and service, retail management, festival promotions/management and life coaching, among a plethora of unique life experiences. Susie has a passion for helping others reach their fullest potential by knocking out pain points and breaking down barriers. Susie offers personalized coaching services in the realms of business, events and life. Her foundation and work ethic comes from her parents: "Whatever you do, always do your best; set goals, have a mentor, and seek challenges; become a role model for those who come behind you, always have good in your heart, and never give up" - this is her business and personal motto.

Ms. Coiner started retail management early in her career working for Ann Taylor (California) and The Apparel Mart (Atlanta, GA), before starting her own business in 2006, Domino Consulting, LLC, now called Susie in the Black. Through her company, her clients have capitalized on her expertise in sales, customer service, product placement, and promotion.  In 2011, she teamed up with longtime friend and colleague and returned to her passion of retail. bbQ & More (also known as BAM) is an experiential retail gift shop like no other. The business model she created is at the core of her belief; customers are the king and products are the queen. This model is working and growing and the customer experience we've created here at BAM is the #1 reason for its success. With the success of the gift shop in 2018 Susie revamped and renamed her consulting business to include business, event and life coaching. Susie in the Black is now a branch of bbQ & More.

Susie is the co-founder of the largest festival in Western Kentucky (BBQ on the River) that hosts over 50,000 people each year. From her 25 years of experience in this festival, she has knows what works and what doesn't when it comes to large event/festival planning and execution. Today, she serves as President of the organization and still takes an active role in the day-to-day planning of Western Kentucky’s largest festival, which has been the platform for millions of dollars raised for charities. Ms. Coiner has served on numerous boards including Paducah Area Chamber of Commerce, the Spouse Abuse Center, Paducah Symphony Orchestra, Paducah Area Tennis, Paducah Main Street, and Lourdes Advisory Board. She has received The Making a Difference Award from WPSD Local 6, The Summit Award presented by The Paducah Area Chamber of Commerce, The NAACP Community Involvement Award, and is a Kentucky Colonel, as well as Duchess of Paducah, among several other awards and recognition. She attended Pine Manor College in Boston, Massachusetts and obtained a BS degree from the University of Kentucky. Ms. Coiner is married to attorney Andrew Coiner. However, Susie is quick to tell you all of these milestones and achievements pale in comparison to her greatest accomplishment, her daughter, Lilly Jean.
